सूर्य | Before the day begins, child, the river already knows. Look — the people stand waist-deep in the cold water of the ghats, hands cupped, lifting the river up toward the great mandala in the sky. This is arghya, the oldest offering. Older than the temples behind them. Older than the words they speak. You pour water back to the water, you lift the river toward the sun, and you remember that everything that warms you and feeds you came as a gift first. The grandmothers know. The river knows. Now you know too.
