पार्वती | Long, long ago, child, before she was a wife or a mother, Parvati went into the mountains alone. She sat on the cold stone, lotuses in her hand, the wind in her hair, and she meditated. The seasons came and went around her. She did not move. This is tapas — the heat of long stillness. She wanted Shiva, and she would not be moved from her seat until the world acknowledged her.
