दुर्गा | Sometimes, child, the goddess does not come to us in clear lines. She comes in a flash of colour at the edge of the eye, a swirl of red and gold and turquoise that the mind cannot quite hold. The painters here have caught only a fragment — the weapons in motion, the cloth of her sari curling like a flame, the hand half-seen. Maybe this is the most honest way to paint her. Nobody has ever really seen all of Durga at once. She is too much. We catch what we can. We bow to the rest.
